Keyboard shortcuts

A complete reference of Dices keyboard shortcuts — palette, layouts, composer, and terminal — with the in-app shortcuts sheet.

A complete reference of the keyboard shortcuts in Dices, grouped by area. Shortcuts keep your hands on the keyboard for the things you do most: opening the palette, switching layouts, driving the composer, and asking the terminal AI for help.

Note: Shortcuts are shown with the (Command) key. On Windows, use Ctrl instead of everywhere below.

In-app shortcuts sheet

You don’t need to memorize this page. Press ⌘/ (Ctrl / on Windows) anywhere in Dices to open the shortcuts sheet — an in-app overlay listing the available shortcuts.

General

ShortcutAction
⌘KOpen the command palette + search
⌘NNew chat
⌘,Open Settings
⌘/Open the shortcuts sheet

Tip: The command palette (⌘K) is the fastest way around Dices — it doubles as search and is where you run Runbooks via the “Run: …” entries.

Layout

ShortcutAction
⌘1Single pane
⌘22-up (two panes side by side)
⌘32×2 grid (four panes)

See Workspace & layouts for what each layout is best for.

Composer

ShortcutAction
Send the message
⇧⏎Insert a newline (without sending)
@Mention a file or folder
/Trigger a slash command
/ Move through suggestions
Accept the highlighted suggestion
EscDismiss the suggestions

Tip: Type @ to pull a specific file or folder into context, and / to run a slash command — both open a suggestion list you navigate with /, , and Esc.

Terminal

ShortcutAction
⌘LAsk AI — describe a command in plain language; the AI types the matching shell command for you to review

For the full set of terminal AI actions — Ask AI, Fix, and Explain — see Terminal & AI commands.
